First, tell me why you decided to sign with Pittsburgh?

Well, when I didn’t get picked in the draft – when I wasn’t one of the 259 guys drafted – after the draft I wasn’t mad or sad or angry. I just kept myself level-headed. God brought me through a lot of things and it was a blessing from God to be able to sign with the Steelers.

I didn’t know what team would come to try to get me and sign me after the draft. But when Mike Tomlin called he sounded like he was very happy to have me.

What do you think you bring to the team – what are some of the areas you excel in?

I am coming to dominate. I want to get past the practice squad roster and line up and start as a rookie.

I bring a lot of energy and a lot of toughness. I bring that energy and toughness to the team. I’m a playmaker. I make plays downfield and when it’s fourth and two or in the redzone – I know I can catch it and make the big plays.

I know I can line up and be a deep threat – but I can also make catches in traffic and get yards after the catch. I couldn’t show that as much based on the type of offense we ran in college. But I think I can show it to the Pittsburgh coaches.

Were you surprised the Steelers showed interest in you? Did they show it pre-draft?

I talked to them some I believe, but they showed less interest than most of the other teams to be honest.

Anything you think you need to work on most in your game?

I really just want to be able to show them that I am more versatile – I didn’t get to show that at Kent State. I can play in the slot, as a deep threat… but in our offense at Kent State I could only get to do one thing really, which was frustrating.

You know anyone on the team you can connect with?

I don’t know anyone yet. Najee Harris – he and I worked out together at Axos  – we bonded a bit there in Texas. Blocking for him would be a blessing.

How is your blocking acumen?

I love to block – I’d love to block for Najeh and the other running backs. I want when they get through the A and B gaps to know to come to my side – I want them to know I will block my guy downfield for them.

You were also a solid special teams player as well correct?

I did kick returns pretty well. I want to do that for the Steelers to. I think I can be the starting kick returner. I did punt returns too and blocked two kicks my freshman year. I want to be able to contribute on special teams for sure.

Lastly, outside of football – what should fans know about you – what motivate you outside of football?

I love fashion. And I want to get into real estate and make good money – I want to have different types of hustles and make a lot of money.

I also want to travel and learn from the different people. I want to learn to be a better man.
