VIntage Steelers: It’s 6:00 on a Sunday night and I’m tired, but not stressed

It’s 6:00 on a Sunday night and I’m tired, but not stressed. This is the first week in more than four months that the I wasn’t worried about, upset about or happy about a Steelers game. So, what’s a guy to do on the first Sunday of the end of the 2018-2019 season? Watch the playoffs? Eh. My whole life is different now.

This change in life usually happens a little later in January or even February, but this year did not end with the result we wanted. So, my wife and I went hiking. My 16 year old and I went driving…new driver’s permit. Watch out. We visited my parents. Holy shnikies is this what life is like without Steeler football?

The Ravens lost! Hee Hee. Take that Baltimore. I’m 1000% sure we would have beaten San Diego (it’ll always be San Diego…don’t give me this Los Angeles crap). But now I’m physically exhausted. Haven’t taken my nap yet. All this physical activity has taken a toll on my old fart butt. Guess I better get used to it. My wife has been busy too…hiking in the morning and cooking all afternoon. See what you do to us Pittsburgh? You make us do other things throughout the day. You make us exercise. You make us put our lives in danger with a 16 year old driver. Hope you’re happy! Just typing this is physically taxing. My legs are sore. My stomach is tighter. I feel great, but then again, no I don’t. I haven’t eaten as much as I usually do on gameday. I probably lost a few pounds. What the **** are you doing to us Pittsburgh?!?!

I may actually get into some sort of shape. I think I see the beginnings of a six pack in my stomach. Well, maybe not. But, what else will I do now since you’re not playing? Keep exercising? IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!

Speaking of nothing else to do, yesterday morning on my Twitter account, @VintageSteelers, I posted a pic of Swanny and Stallworth and may have made a comment about them and about how great they were and I may have insinuated something about a certain Steeler wide receiver that let’s just say is unsure about his future in Pittsburgh. Apparently, I’m not the only one who has time on his hands. This one pic and post has generated more likes, retweets, views and comments than any other post I have ever put on Twitter. As of now the post has generated more than 3,400 likes…more than 770 retweets…and more than 120 comments. It has been viewed by more than 194,000 people!!!! Not all of those commenting are Steeler fans by the way. And, not everyone agrees with me. But, wow what a response. Many people out there in Twitter Universe have some more time on their hands since the Steelers are done for the season. I gained more than 250 new followers since this post. Still cracks me up that I get followers. I do this for fun and look where it’s gone. That certain Steeler wide receiver is not quite as popular with Steeler Nation as he used to be.

There are some pretty nasty responses. I still like that certain Steeler wide receiver. I think he’ll be back next season unless there’s a “too good to be true” offer from another team. I like him, but I really like Swanny and Stallworth. Sorry, John…Stallworth and Swanny. So, I need to bring this column to an end. Yes, it’s shorter than usual but my butt is whipped. My eyes hurt. My fingers are tired. I’m so ready for bed and it’s not even 7:00 yet. I need to iron shirts for work for the week. Not gonna happen. Too tired. Tomorrow is a sweater day. Not packing lunches for the week tonight either. Too tired. Can of soup for lunch tomorrow.

See what you do to us Pittsburgh? It’s all your fault. I miss the good old days of the playoffs and all of the gluttony, gaining weight, cursing at the tv, and all those bad habits that come with them. By the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!
